The Hamburg type, as we know from Isestrasse, was transformed at the beginning of the last century into an officer's house type in Strasbourg. In a row of deep houses with a corresponding incision on the garden side for lighting and ventilation - somewhat less dignified, as the corridors here tend to open up individual rooms in a dark residential community. With the task of connecting two half floors on top of each other, the arrangement of the open staircase library in place of the corridor was able to win over the generosity of the original type.
